In 12 hours from now the Sun takes up a key position in its yearly journey from sunrise in the south east to sunrise in the north east … and then back again. Tomorrow it will rise and set in the due east and due west position and it will also be exactly half way from the extreme of the dead of winter and the height of summer. This is because the Sun is rising and setting exactly on the equator – a phenomenon that only occurs twice a year because the Earth is usually tilted one way or another. We are then in perfect harmony are we not? Errr ….yes….. and no. Records show that for some reason October is the second most geomagnetically active month of the year. The Earth may be aligning in a geometric harmony with the Sun, but that alliance obviously opens the flood gates somewhere! As the Sun crosses this spiritually significant line, it enters the Zodiac Sign of Libra – a fundamentally important and very misunderstood influence on us. (Contrary to popular belief the Zodiac Signs are just portions of the sky around us and nothing to do with the patterns of stars) 100 years of pop astrology would have us believe that the Libra energy is all about Barbie dolls and love, but actually its not. Its about fighting to keep everything in balance, albeit that Libra is social and wants to be friends. Libra DOES want to relate, but only so there is someone to fight…. Ooops, sorry….. discuss things …. with. Libras impulsive need is to show others how to relate and it likes to control the space in between two people. Ill see you for this amount of time and on this night. Granted Libra is gracious and harmonious… if it gets its own way. Although Libra has difficulty making its mind up, it still wants to instigate and make decisions. (The real Libra conundrum.) You are a Libra Sun Sign and you dont believe me? Alright…. Invite someone else to choose the restaurant and then lets see if you dont change it or suggest something else as soon as they have. But… I digress…. So we have a shift of energy from the dutiful Virgo into social Libra. But at the same time, something else is happening. For the Moon is rapidly swinging round to that part of the sky too, so we are due to get a New Moon in Libra as well. This places a lot of emphasis on the need to get relating, or anything else for that matter, in perfect symmetry or harmony. And if necessary we will fight to achieve our version of it. So that might mean working hard at the interior design of the house, or putting some effort into the balance of power in any of our `friendships`. The coincidence of the Sun and Moon being at this particular part of the sky at the same time as the Earth aligns with the Sun is an important one. We will likely get some jangled nervous systems as external gravity pulls us towards incoming electromagnetic flows, but who wants to be cured of feeling? The best way of utilising the energy around us is to put effort into making something look or feel nice. Have a dinner party and put a lot of effort into the food and dinner table lay out. Or decorate a room that badly needed it. Or get rid of bits and bobs that dont match and colour co-ordinate the living area. Honestly, do you need to hang on to that smelly dog blanket? Make an effort to feel the `harmony` around you and strive for a balance… this may open up your eyes to IM-balance…. But it may get you to re-adjust something for the better too.
