In Bangladesh, motorcycle repair is a lucrative trade, and one that is dominated by men. But Khadija didnt let that stop her from becoming a mechanic, and now shes forging a path for other young girls in the region. Though she was an ambitious student, she was forced to drop out of school before finishing fifth grade to help support the family, writes Scott MacMillan from BRAC USA. International development organisation, BRAC, offered Khadija vocational training and she hasnt looked back since.The doubters doubted. She persisted. Thanks to Khadija’s success, we’ve begun offering motorcycle repair training for whole groups of girls.
