In Brazil, it is very unusual to find an upper middle and upper class black couple. Ever since the end of slavery in 1888, there has been a process of "branqiemento" where Brazil has desperately tried to whiten out its extremely large black popuation. This process still exists to this very day. Because of this, upper middle class Black Women will almost always date and marry white men, while upper middle class Black Men will almost always date and marry white women. Seeing well to do black couples in most areas of Brazil can be a very rare thing. It is only in the Favelas where you will generally see black relationships.
