In March, the ICMA (Institute of Certified Management Accountants) - TopicsExpress

In March, the ICMA (Institute of Certified Management Accountants) announced a few changes to the CMA exams effective with the January/February 2015 testing window. The ICMA has now released the Content Specification Outlines (CSO) and Learning Outcome Statements (LOS) for the new 2015 CMA exams on their web site at imanet.org/cma_certification/current_cma_candidates/flexible_study_options.aspx. In summary, Financial Reporting and Strategic Planning are being added to Part 1, and a handful of smaller topics are being added, moved, or deleted in both Parts. Because these changes are small compared to the scope of the exam, for the purposes of being certified the current exams and the 2015 exams are interchangeable (there is no “transition” phase). Candidates studying now or starting to study in the next couple of weeks do not need to change their study plans. If you have been on the fence about beginning your CMA certification, you may want to consider starting Part 1 now before the new topics are added to the exam in 2015. HOCK will release updated study materials in the upcoming weeks, and all HOCK customers who have purchased the 2-Part CMA materials will have online access to the updated materials for the exam Part(s) they have purchased at no charge when they are released. Like us on Facebook or watch our web site for future announcements about exact availability. If you have any questions or concerns about these changes, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be glad to help.
