In a few short hours I turn 40 something. I know that is a surprise because some people think I am much younger. I was out with my friend Scott Keever tonight and his Dad said "Scott Herold you have done a lot of things. You have ran the spectrum. When it is all said and done what is next?" I have thought about that a lot lately. When I was a kid I learned to draw and paint. I even won some awards. I can not remember a time when I was not in the press for something I participated in. In High School I was a Jock, Theater Student and played n a Rock band. In college I majored in theater and I always got the lead roles. I lived out of van trying to be a folk singer and recorded a really cool record. I did some commercial acting. Then in my twenties I sold leather couches for straight commission, and parlayed that into a six figure a year job in executive management. I left that. Then I went into the nonprofit world and with some help built a reputable and acclaimed nonprofit. Then I got into radio. Now I am focusing on the Rock the Cause record label. What is next?? I would like turn out a several more #1 selling charitable records. Then finally produce that Rock the Cause show at Madison Square Garden and Wimbley Stadium. I would also like to get married. Settle down with a woman who I felt a kindred spirit with. We could have kids, adopt or even blend a family. It is all good with me. I think it would be cool if Harvard or Oxford bestowed me with some sort of Honorary Degree in Social Enterprises. I would also enjoy being keynote at SXSW and on the cover of Rolling Stone. Then I would turn Rock the Cause over to some handpicked apprentice. Then my wife and I would just live in some old Victorian home in a college town. I would teach and she would do what she loved. We would garden and bake bread. Then when I am an old man I would write a book about all of it and live someplace warm with an Orange tree in my yard. My family and I would squeeze orange juice on special mornings. I think it is all doable as long as I have good health, a good perspective and no comets or radicals with a bomb come in between. I do not like being told "no" or that I can not do something. If I want it to happen it will in some form or another.
