In celebration of spring, when nature becomes alive again, lets practice tree pose or Vrikshasana. This is a simple balancing pose any new yogi can accomplish. Key point: Find one place to focus on this will help you stay balanced in this pose, as in life when you dont have a goal to focus on, you tend to lose balance easily. Start by standing tall in mountain pose, arms down by your side. Bring your right knee up then gently draw the foot into the inner left thigh. Use your hand as a guide or let your foot find its home naturally. You can modify by placing the foot on the inner calf or ankle, with practice your foot will reach your inner thigh. Bring hands together at your heart in prayer position or allow your tree to grow by reaching your arms towards the sky or have the hands clasped together as in the picture. Try this pose anywhere and feel your mind and body become grounded and strong!
