In light of the recent outbreak of the new, deadly respiratory - TopicsExpress

In light of the recent outbreak of the new, deadly respiratory virus let me just say Im LIVID. Like, so insanely frustrated and pissed that the best advice theyre giving to parents is wash your hands. Seriously?!? Wtf. Yeah, I understand washing your hands helps prevent disease minutely, but keep in mind this is a) a virus, not a bacteria, it can be spread through airborne contact and 2) antibacterial soap is now illegal in Minnesota, so the fact thats the best advice they give is both audacious and negligent. So parents, coming from someone who believes in whole-body preventive health based on a strong immune system heres a few things you can ACTUALLY do to help prevent disease. 1) vitamin D. The single most important supplement a human can take to prevent and cure disease, ESPECIALLY RESPIRATORY ILLNESS. Its the superman of all medicine. If they could take this off the market they would, because its that important for whole body health. Its also $5 at target and comes in pill, chewable tablet, and liquid drop form. 2) Probiotics. Because if you know anything about how our immune systems work, you know you need to have a healthy gut for it to function. This is why Im insanely against antibiotics but thats a different topic for a different day. I get mine from swansonvitamins and they are cheap. And Corbyn thinks theyre candy. Win. 3) Raw garlic and RAW honey. Yeahhh I know theres some eye rolls here but did you know that these two foods are the most anti-bacterial, anti-biotic substances on the PLANET? Even more than prescription antibiotic. True story. And WHAT kid wont eat a spoonful of RAW honey?? I have to stress raw, honey bear honey from cub is over processed sugar. Dont mistake the two:) 4) thieves essential oil. In case you havent already jumped on the bandwagon, this is the holy grail of stopping sickness. Voodoo magic, its insane. If you need me some let me know I can get it for you. 5). I promise I wont get all condescending about all organic, processed food, I wont. But since it basically shuts down their little immune systems, maybe it wouldnt hurt for just A LITTLE WHILE to swap out some of your pantry for healthier options, just until this epidemic is over:) WASH YOUR HANDS.... Are you f*cking kidding me???
