In memory of John Buscema, born December 11th... I was set up at SDCC in 78...selling a bunch of golden age comics...right next to my dear friend Steve Geppi. Sold one to Roy Thomas and mentioned to him that I had enjoyed his run on Conan so much I had them professionally bound. I had the 2 volume set with me in hopes of running into some of the creators at the con for autographs. Roy signed the first volume which was predominately Thomas and Barry Smith...then he said hes be right back. Before I knew it, he had John Buscema and Ernie Chan in tow and had them sign my volume two. Big John was somewhat amazed that I had gone to the expense of having the books bound, but he was courteous and friendly, and seemed like a genuinely gracious man.
