In regards to yesterdays post about my Queen Esther cosplay - TopicsExpress

In regards to yesterdays post about my Queen Esther cosplay breakdown, a few of you were a bit... well, rude, in saying how I shouldnt spend my money. Let me make it very clear - what I do with my time and my finances is no concern to the Internet at large. Let me also make something clear, I was 30 when I started that costume. At that point, I was 9 years into my career and was working for NBC News; not just a job, a career. As a single (at the time) woman with no dependents, my expendable income is vastly more than most who get into this hobby in their teens and college years. So keep that in mind. I recognize I am *extremely* fortunate in that I have a career that affords me to do what I want in my spare time. I also recognize not everyone is that fortunate, which is why when I see cosplayers who save, scrape and scour for ever deal so that CAN make their dream costume come to life, I have the utmost admiration for them. Its not a cheap hobby. But just as you cant assume every cosplayer has their costumes being funded by fans, dont assume all of us are living paycheck to paycheck to indulge in what is still a very misunderstood hobby. :)
