In the past few days, we, the students of Srinagar studying at different tuition centres in the city, have been witnessing frequent disturbances in our studying schedules due to the frequent inspections. We appreciate that you care for us, but this practice is doing more harm than good. Recent order by the District Administration to start tuitions not before 9 a.m. and almost all of the tuition centres took the order seriously and acted accordingly. But, the officials are pointing at almost everything as objectionable in their inspections. Closed windows, both small and large rooms, a cup of tea on the shelf, good number of students (not too many), etc. which are just normal and compromisable are objectionable to them. Please specify who keeps doors and windows open in this harsh cold? They accuse of breathing problems. If you ask anyone in here, nobody would agree, except a few who are too addicted to 5-star comfort. Students have been studying for years at some of these places. There were no problems. But, why only in this year? Maybe some tuition centres are actually taking students for granted and need to be shut down immediately, but majority are good enough for a student to study in peace. If a student is not satisfied with the austere conditions, he/she may leave and find a coaching centre (which are many around) providing 5-star comfort. Some people may not agree with my views. To those, I suggest going outside the valley and having a look at coaching centres outside the valley. They are stuffed with students and the fees is hefty. Still they produce huge number of professionals every year. Nobody is complaining there. We, the students, want to study in peace, in a tension-free environment, and we are satisfied with the quality of teaching, infrastructure, etc that we are provided with. Dont have any views of other tuition centres, but here in the old city, we are pretty much satisfied. If a tuition centre is actually in bad condition, it should be boycotted by the students. We demand that the humiliation of our teachers should be stopped. Immediately. They care for us. Its time that we care for them too. This petition has been created by a student among the other students. Im just like you, and I find the insult of my teachers offensive. Very offensive. Some people just want to see the world burn. A group students around us is among them. Respect your teachers, love them and appreciate them, and stand by them when they need you. The real teachers. Black sheep are everywhere. We have to save ourselves from those. The Administration is harming the students in evicting these. So, we request the administration, again, to let us study in peace by not humiliating and insulting our teachers, and us. Act on problems pointed by masses, not by one or two phone calls.
