In the past few weeks, the Post Office has lost 2 packages that Ive sent out. I purchased tracking numbers (cuz thats the responsible thing to do right?) and they just never show up again after their last point of being scanned & consequently not delivered to the receiver. How is it that the Post Office can offer a service and say pay us to TRY to MAYBE get it there, OR you can pay us even more to REALLY make sure we REALLY TRY to get it there, ORRR you can pay us EVEN MORE to REALLY REALLY TRY to make sure that we get it there FOR SURE! They have all these upsells to add more insurance that your package will get there. If the WHOLE POINT of the Post Office is to take what I have at point A and give it to person at point B, there should be NO excuse to not put full effort into making that happen. I shouldnt have to grease your wheels to incentivize you to do a better job of NOT losing the package Im sending. When I pay to send something, it damn well should make it to where its going, no excuses, no questions asked. Paying extra to ask them to try a little harder not to lose it is some serious bullshit. Especially when they just seem to lose it anyway. And what makes it worse is no one responds when you email their help-desk. From here on out, if I cant FedEx it, set it up as an auto-bill pay or drive it there my damn self, it just is going to have to stay where it is because the USPS has 100% lost my business for life. I wish I could cancel my mailbox outside of my business as well somehow.
