In the summer of 1970, two rock musicians were introduced to each other by a mutual friend at his Washington Heights apartment at 4455 Broadway, between 190th and 192nd Street. Those three formed a band that soon flopped; but the two musicians who were introduced in the Heights then put together a new band in late 1972 that soon set the world on fire and made an everlasting impression in the world of hard rock music. Those musicians were Chaim Witz and Inwood native Stan Eisen...better known as Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS.
