Incredible day on Wednesday. Mike O’Gorman and James Main both retiring. Mike joined Addis and Warde in 1970. He and Chris Blackman bought the (largely small and farm animal) practice from Addis and Warde in 1972 and the practice became Blackman and O’Gorman. In 1974 the practice moved to London Road Newbury. James Main joined them in 1989, while Blackman retired in 1991. Thus it was Mike O’Gorman, Julian Slater and James Main who purchased Donnington Grove Veterinary Surgery in 1991, and who employed me at the start of 1992. Mike has been part time for several years, since reaching the 65 landmark, while James is going early, despite his physical appearance he is still under 60.
