Indian traditional sweets are all milk based..either a halwa is made by adding milk or mawa or malai (cream) for example gajar ka halwa....or a kheer is made by adding rice to the milk itself..different regions have different ingredients and methods for the sweets but mostly it all summarizes using a dairy product..kheer has more rice than milk..doodhpaak has more milk than rice. .baasudi is made using a fruit(apple, sitafal) boiled in more creamier milk.. There are besan sweets. .moong daal halwa. Puran polis. Ladoos and lavshis ..dryfruit katris and rolls..Cream salads..and fruit custard. And the Bengali version of boiled and sugared dairy sweets like rasgollas and chumchums. . The gulabjamun and jalebis The ghevar and sohanpapdi The pedas and the barfis. .. The shrikhands and the sevaiyyan. . The list is endless...I have not tasted all..nor I am a big fan. Ya ..I am a sweet person 💗 who loves to eat something sweet sometime. So..obviously my daughter will inherit my sweet tooth and love to eat a dessert or two. Now the problem is she is highly allergic to milk and all dairy products. . Also she is allergic to hydrogenated veg.oil. Its a plus point she could have ghee..from the beginning. And so I first made her baby food by making raabdi (its a little wheat/bajri flour flour roasted in little ghee with a clove and cinnamon , added some jaggery laden warm water. ..and its done. .smooth, sweet and great smelling Raab(di)...not rabdi which is total full fat milk hmm. My journey to raising my loving and lovely daughter began with a challenge. .first the discovery of why anf how the allergies happened and then the constant trial and error how to avoid any allergies to happen. Yeah it was very tough and it still remains. But my daughter has a tougher spirit and she is a marvel. I have learnt to live in the present. And make each single day beautiful and create sweet and loving memories. CaL has been a blessing. I am happy to learn so many new ways to cook simple recipes to create sweet memories for her.💟. As food is the main supporter of your existence. .The key to lift your moods ..The memory to your celebration. .The blessing to your good health and well being. ❤ Thankyou Reem Khan..The moment I saw your sooji kheer (rava nu doodh) I fell the temptation to try it. And today I finally made it. (I forgot about it...until I saw it again..) I was making it by using normal milk..for myself..and was going to make simple rava shira for her .But I made a vegan version as well. She is so fond of kesar (saffron) She will say kesarwalo Shiro (the sooji halwa) I am happy ..that there is one more memory of happiness for my darling💖..The one in the box is made with coconut milk. .on which the Chinese script by the saffron petals says..I love you ..to my sweetiepie. The cocktail glass holds regular kheer..and it was soul comforting.❤❤..Once again.💛 a tight big hug to you dear Reem.
