Instead of a prom, I took to fashion expos and events that fit the lifestyle I was trying to attain. Instead of finishing public high school, I switched to online school and graduated a year early so that I could live my dreams. Instead of living my dreams, I went to a city where I knew nobody and had a few years of insanity. Instead of continuing that, I came home. Instead of staying home, I stayed out so that I never actually had to face the decisions that dictated the chaos of the past years- so instead of growing, I continued knowing. Knowing it all, doing it all, invincible, cause I could, whatever. I dont regret my decisions to live outside of the status quo... to not attend college right out of high school or to choose a life of responsibility right away. I dont regret it because my mistakes have been the most beautiful decisions Ive ever made. I didnt get that college degree yet or the beautiful house and fancy car... but I do have an opportunity of a lifetime for not giving up my dream. I have an amazing son to push and drive me to be the best person I can possibly be. LONG STORY SHORT: Never sell yourself short on your dreams. Even if you dont follow them the first, second, third, or fifteenth time... as long as you make the solid decision to put your all into it when you finally do, it will be worth it. Never stop believing in yourself, and forever do what you know you were meant to do. Youre the only person who can decide what kind of person you are going to be. And being proud of that person is more important than a piece of paper, whether it be money or something that titles you in any sort of way. Dont stop dreaming and believing until the day you stop breathing.
