Interesting Sovereign Man email today about Norfolk Island. It is 13.4 square miles with a population of 2,169, 877 miles east of Brisbane, Australia and about halfway between New Caledonia and New Zealand (each of which is about 560 miles away). It is Australia for defense and foreign policy, but has its own immigration, business, and tax laws (nothing but 12% sales tax). It appears to be hurting lately economically because of the strong Australian dollar. Fabulous year-round climate. Scenic. Produces its own livestock, milk, eggs, fruit, and vegetables. Residency permit may be available for those who would set up an operating business there. I expect I could operate Reed Publishing out of such a place. Would need high-speed Internet. Otherwise, I could probably figure it out. I do not like the idea of such a small, isolated island, but if there is hyperinflation in the U.S. and EZ, and other countries, it might be attractive temporarily. Also, one might be able to have a business there and residence and maybe citizenship but travel frequently. A bit of an odd venue, but, as I said, interesting.
