Interesting battle going on with the long-range models right now for the weekend after Christmas (around 12/28). The European model shows quite the snowstorm moving through Ohio while the GFS shows nada. Although to be fair, the GFS does show much weaker system bringing lighter snow about 2 days later, around the 30th. Im sure the models will go back and forth on this for a while. Just a note, the overall weather pattern is about to undergo a pretty significant change. Sometimes the models have a tough time figuring out the change and until the pattern normalizes to whatever it is going to be, the models can sometimes get pretty erratic such as what weve seen the last several days. Sometimes I wonder if I just dont say anything about any snowstorm, maybe they will come. I seem to jinx them when I talk about them, haha. You can see though how the models can have meteorologists pulling their hair out!
