Introducing 2014 Hall of Fame Inductee, Coach Charles Buckle. Coach Buckle was the Head Coach for the McIntosh Boys & Girls Cross Country/Track & Field teams from 1981 till 2013. During that time, his teams have won 31 Region Cross Country Championships (Boys – 12/Girls – 19), four Georgia HS AAAA Cross Country State Championships (1996, 1998, 2005, 2012), and one Georgia HS AAAA Track & Field State Championship (2013). He was named the Georgia High School Coaches Association Cross Country Coach of the Year four times (1996, 1998, 2005, 2012) and the Atlanta Track Club Cross Country Coach of the Year four times (1996, 1998, 2005, 2012). He was also named the Atlanta Track Club Track & Field Coach of the Year once – in 2013. Coach Buckle is the Founder and Past Chairman of the McIntosh High School Sports/Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame. Coach Buckle retired from teaching in 2013, having worked in the Fayette County school system since 1978. He also served our country in the U.S. Army Reserve for 35 years – retiring in 2012 with the rank of Sergeant Major.
