Inukshuk (pronounced in-ook-shook) Stone monuments erected in the image of humans to communicate direction. Used as a survival tool for travelers on their journey through harsh and desolate landscapes. An Inukshuk signifies safety, hope, friendship, balance, welcome, and sense of one’s importance in a community. ( Here, Inukshuk means “photo opportunity with great friend with dynamic background”! HAHA!) For me, the Inukshuk will be a symbol of survival, it will be a symbol of enduring friendships, and finally, it will remind me to live in balance and to be supportive and encouraging to others along their journey.
