Ironman Florida!!! Well that was truly something that I will not - TopicsExpress

Ironman Florida!!! Well that was truly something that I will not forget for a long time. Swim- damn that is A LOT of people all in one small area of the huge Gulf!!!! The first loop was just a mass of people who for the most part did not care if they hit you, swam over you or pulled you under- all of which happened to me along with a huge wave hitting me and taking my goggles with it. I was pleased to see what my swim time was as I didnt feel like I was swimming that time. Bike- everything was going great and I was feeling good until about mile 52 when I got a flat on rough road and had trouble getting my new tire off the rim. Thanks to a great teammate who stopped to help me I was back on the road after a while. Then came the GI issues about mile 60. Damn that was no fun. But I managed to push through the rest of the bike holding an ok pace. Was hoping for a sub 6 bike but it just wasnt in the cards yesterday. Run- MY FIRST MARATHON!!!! I was so happy to get off my bike that I actually really enjoyed the marathon. My GI issues stayed with me for the rest of the race but over than that I was feeling pretty good considering how long my day had already been. Got some massive blisters and some leg cramping but knew I just needed to keep moving forward. Happy with my run time as I wasnt sure how my body was going to hold up but who ever wants to do a stand along marathon?? Not this girl!!! Overall it was a great but challenging day for me and I could not be more pleased with my time of 12:09:05 and placing 14th in my AG! I have had a great season and this was just the perfect ending!!!! Major thanks to Andrew Welch, Aprill Martin and my mom for being my biggest cheerleaders all season long and especially yesterday as they were out there at 4:30 with me all the way to the end. And THANKS to all of you at home for watching all day and sending lots of love my way. It means so much to me.
