Is reading the Book called the WHITE HEADHUNTER. An Amazing story of a White guy called John Renton, lived for seven years among Headhunters of Malaita, an Island in the Solomons. After a Nightmare open-boat voyage of nearly 3000 kilometers across the Pacific, Renton and four companions fortuitously landed on Malaita, where a group of coastal natives took them in. Isolated by deaths of his companions, Renton was eventually adopted by the son of the chief of a nearby tribe.Although dreaming of escape (with his only attempt foiled), Renton settled into the life of the Too-i-Asi or Salt Water people, and after winning acceptance in a headhunting expedition, was initiated into the tribe. Renton was finally rescued by a blackbirding vessel in 1875, and his account of his life among his adopted people became sensation throughout the world. what an Interesting book, first-time to read it, never knew about this piece of history when i was in High-School. Interesting Indeed. :).
