It amazes me how many trainers give out bad info. So Ill go one better. Heres the truth. For free:) 1) Your losses (fat) and gains (muscle) are won in the kitchen, not necessarily the gym. It is paramount you keep your nutrition in check. Case in point: I eat chicken breast, red meat, Greek yogurt, and stay around 50g carbs 6 days a week. Lots of protein. No fried food, no ice cream, no bread whatsoever. Log everything I eat. On Sundays, like The Rock, I eat whatever I want. He goes a bit nuts tho. If I consumed 5 pizzas, 2 dozen eggs, and 3 footlong subs, Id feel like crap :/ 2) Go to the gym, because you love it! I spend 6 hours a week there, and look forward to every 2 hour workout. Like a job, if you dont love it, you wont stick with it. 3) Lift weights!! The more muscle you put on, the more fat you burn. Girls, you will not look like an IBF pro from lifting. Those women are in a huge calorie surplus. 4) Be serious about your workouts. Push yourself beyond your limits. You wont die. Unless you have a medical condition, then you might :/ In that case, check with your doctor first. Then if they say youre good, go for it! Jump off that cliff. Figuratively speaking here. Dont jump off an actual cliff :/ 5) Work with your doc/nutritionist to find a nutrition plan that works for you. I am an advocate for low carb, high protein, but I realize what works for some, doesnt for others. Hope this helps some people out. Sorry for the heavy sarcasm. Thats just me. ;)
