It has been quite a day. We started out by extubating her then decided she would need some bipap support instead of just high flo oxygen. She did really well and is tolerating the bipap really well. She is very weak and tired and kind of in and out as we begin weaning her sedation drips, but she can shake her head yes and no and tries to talk some. Its been so nice to hear her whisper, but so frustrating not to really understand what she wants. She is too weak to point or show you in any other way, but weve gotten by. Tears have been Shed on both our parts...frustration, sadness, love, and joy.... Such a mix of emotion. Her blood pressures are improving and her temp although still elevated is a little bit lower. We are slowly marching, the marathon is not yet over, but hopefully the uphill portion is complete. It will take time and prayers and we appreciate all the prayers and support. Her heart is tender and I find myself struggling with the balance of vigilance. So thankful for our amazing nurses who continue to support us both.
