It is only because I am a forgiving person was the dough allowed - TopicsExpress

It is only because I am a forgiving person was the dough allowed to live and become filled cookies. I did my part. by carefully following the recipe. BUT--that dough developed a rotten, obstinate, attitude. I rolled, out some of the dough and it had the audacity to stick to the rolling pin and smirk at me! Look, dough, do you see me laughing? No! Why? Because it is not funny! I fail to see the humor in this!-------Perhaps it is not the doughs fault. Maybe it needs more chilling time. Okay, dough, back into the fridge until you learn to behave yourself. While the dough is chilling, I get me a good idea. This time I will roll the dough between two sheets of floured, wax paper. That did work, because now it cant stick to my rolling pin. ---BUT--- After rolling and cutting perfect 3 inch rounds, the cookies refused to hold their shape when I tried picking them up! Okay, cookies you and me need to have a talk. First I talk and you listen very carefully. Shh, dont interrupt me. If you continue to fail to cooperate, you will become just a lump of dough living in the bottom of my trash can. I glared at the dough, checking to see if I had its up most attention. The trash can is not a place that you want to spend your life living in. I will dump coffee grounds and left over pasta on you, and then the flies will come pooping and laying maggots to crawl all over you. You will always be looked down on scornfully. I picked up the printed out recipe and held it over the dough. See these round things? They are cute arent they? They are called cookies. You have a chance of becoming a cookie instead of spending your days living in filth. As a pretty cookie you will be admired by all and all will sing praises to your beauty. I am going to give you another chance to turn your life around. I ended up with cookie sheets of cookies and before putting each pan in the oven I said, Dont you dare burn. I put on the oven light and every second I peered through the oven window to give them the evil eye and to remind them that I was watching. I thought it best to not explain the fact of the food chain to the cookies. I did not want them to panic and run out the door, like The Gingerbread Boy, straight into the woods to be caught by the fox! --I mean old Mr, Fox is capable of making his own cookies, Right?
