It is too much to share..but years ago, two weeks prior to graduation from medical school, I opened my unlocked car and to my horror there was a "person" lurking in the back seat on the floor. With a knife to my throat he threatened me. Put me in the trunk of my car with a pillowcase knotted around my neck with a belt. We drove for what seemed like hours...until he removed me from the trunk in a barn and raped me repeatedly. In between, he went through my purse and said "I know where you live and if you breathe a word of this to anyone I WILL come back to hurt the ones you love. The final insult was a crude knife-carved area on my cervix. I did not tell a soul for three years, by then it was too late for certain aspects of my life. Now. I always lock my car door; I carry a taser in my purse as well as a flashlight that can momentarily blind an attacker. I recommend a book entitle "The Gift of Fear" which taught me a great deal about trusting my instincts. Sorry if this was TMI, but I had to respond to this post;
