It is truly the end of an era for me in KUPPET. For a decade I was at the helm of leadership at the branch level. First as Executive Secretary of the then Mt.Elgon branch then Chairman of the Bungoma County Branch. I look back with nostalgia. The union that I helped found is growing from strength to strength. Today, despite challenges; the union boasts of increased membership. The vibrancy with which members are is served is laudable. The acquisition of a union bus, the first of its kind in the country is a milestone. I consider this a legacy that I leave behind. Equally, Bungoma county Branch is more visible and recognised than ever before. KUPPET works in equal strength as established unions. In keeping with world trends you can find the branch in the net. I have joined the county government, but I truly made my contribution in the best way I knew how. It is my believe that the new chairman will build on the achievements and leave KUPPET better than he found it. I also wish to sincerely thank my colleague leaders for the unity of purpose. Unity is a virtue we cannot afford to second guess. To the teachers in post primary, thank you for the opportunity to serve. I pray that I was equal to the task you bestowed on me. The cardinal focus should remain improving teachers remuneration and making it commensurate to the much work that they do. Long live Kuppet!
