It is very hard for people to believe or understand corruption in the court system. It happens at every level. My very first lawsuit (ah, the good old days), it was just small claims court, I was forced to sue a guy because he refused to return a computer to me. He was a friend of a friend, and turned out to be a low life. He presented a fake receipt to imply I was the one lying, and it was his computer. Back in those days, there were not many printers. I could tell instantly looking at the receipt he had printed this at home. Retail receipts back then just did not look like this. But more to the point, the business he claimed he bought it from was fake. I had to ask the judge to simply cross reference it in the yellow pages. The judge did not consider this worth his time. I did win the case for other reasons. But it really bothered me that evidence was not double checked when questioned. In a recent case of mine, I was asked to hand over data to a law firm (Ill nickname them BS). But the law firms IT head had a familiar name. I asked a few questions, only to reveal that the IT lead was in fact himself the recipient of ill-gotten gains that might implicate him if found in the data I was sitting on. It was a battle to get the court to recognize this, and act accordingly (conflict of interest). Were there fines to BS (that knew his past)? Were there reprimands? Penalties? Nope. The system itself is the problem. The lawyers are technically doing their job. But they forget often that their job is justice, which is not the same as winning. he told her he needed a marijuana sample to weigh at least 50 pounds so that he could charge the owners with drug trafficking. One can read this sentence as a request, but also simply a statement of fact. Although a charade, police officers are not meant to know what a given penalty is (and often they dont). But, our justice is not even close to blind; myopic perhaps, but not blind. Nepotism is rampant, at every single level. And until the system is treated with a much higher level of skepticism, and accountability, innocent people will suffer. filmingcops/corrupt-government-chemist-tampered-with-40000-cases-locking-countless-innocent-americans-in-prison/
