It is very sad to learn the lose of another Hero away from home and with out accomplishing his mission .I wish to convey my sincere condolences and sympathies to his immediate family members and to the Eritrean people .Truly, to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.)[Noble Quran 2:156] It means …whatever we have is not really ours. It belongs to Allaah. In fact everything you have will only be with you for a very short while. (Allah Yarhamu)May allah bless his soul,إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ) Yes,Eritrea has lost yet another hero of its armed struggle, condolences goes to his family and his loved ones. If the brave leaders died and were buried in cemeteries their heroic struggles remain forever immortal in the hearts of their communities and this applies to the heroic struggles of the Martyr Ahmed Mohamed Nasser, taking in consideration this opportunity “as Arabic proverb says” Sacrifices for the liberation of the homelands is life . Glory and immortality to the Martyrs of the Eritrean people without bias to a particular organization or to specified political experience within the Eritrean Revolution. Ahmed Mohamed Nasser died but his heroic struggles are rooted in the hearts of Eritrean people forever. I received the news with great sadness,I knew Ahmed only recently together with late patriot nationalist Dr.Beyene Kidane ,he was decent ,humble and with great integrity, he joined the armed struggle 1965,after finishing the high school at Haile Sellaise first secondary school in Asmara known as [ QAHAS ],after joining ELF he was sent to Iraq for training, and graduated from Institute of officers,1970 I heard he was one of the voices against civil war,he thought it is tragic with long time unseen consequences, and set back to the armed struggle. However the most important quality he had as human being and Tegadalay was his attitude towards religion, ethnicity, and region,he accepted people as they are never discriminated, last year we lost one of his close friends Dr. Beyene his colleague in Salvation front. I am sure Ahmed will be remembered for his struggle selflessly for almost 50 years for independence and freedom for his country. RIP comrade Ahmed. May our Hero be Rest in Peace! Thanks that he lived till yesterday and kept his principled struggle for full freedom, emancipation. And during his life time, all the never allowed to be told for the young generation who studied under the PDFJ CURRICULUM knew almost nothing, me is of of this victim, To awate team and and all Historians..I am sure you have the resources (if not now at hand, you are able to source it), I would recommend you to produce a serious of Video documentary about ELF in general, the opposition group and indeed his legacy along all this of the late Martyr Ahmed Nasser (May he Rest in Peace!) and his comrades . That is how we can keep our history alive. It is with feelings of great sorrow that I and the people of Eritrea at large learned the passing of Mr. Ahmad Mohammed Nasser, (Allah Yarhamu) one of the true iconic figure among true freedom fighters of Eritrea. He was the 2nd and last elected leader of Eritrean history up to this day. History will remember Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Nasser as a great man, honest, sincere; selfless and hero. (Allah Yarhamu) He never looted Eritreans in either economically or politically. Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Nasser was a poor man financially all his life but rich and pure in his heart, he was a devoted freedom fighter who stood to struggle only with a goal of liberating his country and develop his people; His legacy will live on and surly inspire generations to come in Eritrea. Ahmed Nasir human in nature, forgiving and keen to reconcile with the worst possible scenario, was about to make a deal for Eritreas sake, for peace and co-existence though in a very last minute rejected by none- other than the heinous leader who is now isolated, corrupted, frustrated by his own making. With him Eritrea is in darkness, and he will soon too face the inevitable fate of human being, two meters beneath the earth, as all his once close friends and opponents tasted. But one thing Ahmed taught us, he dispatched from this world with honor, dignity and with sincere human values.Yes, history will always remind him with compassion, love and humanity of leadership.Ahmed Nassir has said good bye to us all including his beloved Eritrea to whom he gave all his life to be free and peaceful land. Especially his willingness to reconcile and mark a new beginning for Eritrea during its independence will be written/ printed not only in history books but in pure Eritrean Hearts as well forever. R.I.P comrade and we promise you we will never rest until we realize the true Eritrea you and all our martyrs fallen, dreamed and fighting for
