It was a sickening realization. The day had begun in a completely ordinary way. Dropped kids at school. Off to the clinic, and heard the reports on the radio of an accident that had occurred in NYC when an aircraft had flown into one of the World Trade Center towers. Out of curiosity went to the TV in our break room. As I watched and listened to the talking heads do what they do, in the background the second jet banked into view and obviously aimed directly at the second tower. The news guys were oblivious to what had just happened, but I realized immediately that this was no longer a horrible accident, but a direct attack on US soil!! Somebody on the production staff apparently was talking in their earpiece to alert them to what happened. And it began...... Our lives have never been the same. Nearly 3000 lives lost there and many more elsewhere and since. My children have grown up not knowing what a world free from terror threat is, at least here in the States. Im thankful for all those who protect us daily!! The military, law enforcement, fire and rescue personnel. Take time today to pray for those individuals. And dont forget to pray for those in political office that set policy and formulate the plans to maintain our safety and sovereignty. Even if you dont agree with their views........
