It was not a journey filled with bunch of Roses. It definitely was filled with challenges everywhere to overcome. Nature is such that all good things should come to an end at some point. A good thing started in August 2004 with my entrance to Rotaract movement in District 3220 – Sri Lanka as Charter President of Rotaract Club of Battaramulla and an even better thing started when I joined Rotaract Club of Colombo Fort as Revival President in 2007. I strongly believe that Rotaract movement offered me so much more than my own contribution towards it. It took me to the highest level by seeing me as District Rotaract Representative for year 2012 / 2013. District 3220 expanded its boundaries by having Maldives included under its wing when I was at the helm of Rotaract. Those truly are the days of glory. Having said that, I must say that I was part of the three year strategic plan initiated by Rotary District 3220 under the able leadership of Rtn. PHF. PDG. Gehan Siribaddana. I was the first individual to be appointed as a District Rotaract Representative under that strategic plan which introduced the position of District Rotaract Representative Nominee (DRRN) in addition to District Rotaract Representative Elect (DRRE) and District Rotaract Representative (DRR). Continuing that strategy, Rotaract District 3220 had the District Conference on 13th and 14th March 2014 in which we saw the election of the next DRRN. Being the Immediate Past District Rotaract Representative (IPDRR) I feel that the current DRR, DRRE and DRRN are now the pillars of the three year strategic plan and I feel my role and involvement should stop from here. Hence I decided to retire from Rotaract prematurely allowing the three individuals to carry out their roles at their discretion. All three of them are equally capable and I have utmost faith in them to carry the flag of Rotaract to much greater heights. Herewith, I would like to inform you that I will be retiring from the movement of Rotaract in District 3220 – Sri Lanka & Maldives with effect from 01st April 2014. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to you for all the guidance and support extended to me whenever I was in need. It was truly wonderful being able to work with you. Thank you very much for the valuable experience provided by you which is unforgettable All the best to you in all your future endeavours! -- Thank You, Kind Regards, Rtr. PP. Dr. Dilhan S. Jayatilleke (Rotaract Club of Colombo Fort) District Rotaract Representative (2012 / 2013) Immediate Past District Rotaract Representative (2013 / 2014) Rotary International District 3220 (Sri Lanka & Maldives)
