It was with great pleasure that I accepted to write two arrangements for this gorgeous new album by the singer/percussionist/composer from Pernambuco, Jam Da Silva, which was just released! The two songs are Brilha Ilha (at the 24:17 minute mark) and Bem Tranquilo (at the 27:26 mark). For the first one, I wrote an arrangement for french horns played by the great, Eduardo De Almeida Prado. For the second, I did an arrangement for string quartet that highlighted the talents of two excellent musicians, Pedro Mibielle on violin and Lui Coimbra on cello. Congratulations to all, especially to Jam Da Silva (Da Silva MJam) for having brought together so much talent in service of a wonderful album, full of sonic innovations, ingenious lyrics, an abundance of grooves and an artistic vision full of simplicity, density and eminently danceable!
