Italy to USA THIS MY LITTLE VENT. Even though now its long time that Im in the US, since august, I wanna tell something that I really disliked about US high school. When first I got here I knew pretty much nothing about how the school works in this country, but just what everyone watches in the movies. Nobody at school explained me how things work down here. In Italy usually we dont turn in our homework because nothing that you do at home can be used as a secure grade but it just help us in our final grade if the teacher is insicure. So, when i did my homework I just kept them in my binder and I kept getting 0s. Unfortunately got in the US after 10 days the begging of the school and some of the teacher made me takes tests the second day of school, without even knowing what they were studying. They didnt even bother about if I had some difficulties in the language (Fortunately I didnt). I was supposed to make up all the work that i didnt do because I was in Italy and all of it pissed me off and I figured out that I chose the wrong country. In Italy teachers are really comprehensive with exchange students (just with them not with italians) and they have special homework or they are exonerated from most of the school and home work. I already knew that in America i was suppose to do all the work but at least explain me what I have to do and give me some time to orientate myself in this completely different environment. At the end I learned my lesson and everything is normal now, I dont have any kind of problem anymore and now its really easy. It just pissed me off that Americans think that their method is used all over the world without thinking that somewhere else its completely different. How did teacher behave toward you guys in different countries outside of US?
