Its been a while since we last posted a status, so here we go. Most excitingly Simon has joined us for our next leg. Last week me and George had the pleasure of experiencing salmonella poisoning. We all ate at restaurant, Simon had pork, me and George ate chicken. It was delicious, however 6 hours later me and George began vomiting within the space of about 30 seconds of each other. We then preceded to spend the next 48 hours in bed, festering in the putrid smell of vommit and dihorrea. The vomiting was so severe that for the second time in my life I slept for 6 hours in a public toilet, lying in another puddle of someone elses urin. At one stage I went to the loo to vomit and woke up 3 hours later. It was however a character building experience, and we have now almost entirely recovered. We rejoined Simon and made our way to Laos on a boat trip for 2 days. In Laos we went to a stunning waterfall, and then went for drinks with steph and Iona. Today we Visited the UXO museum in Laos, as part of our self inflicted cultural learning exercise. This was a real opener. Interestingly Laos had more bombs dropped on it during the Vietnam war by the American Air Force than the total bombs dropped by both sides during WW2. Approximately 30% of which failed to detonate. It is therefore no surprise that somebody in Laos is seriously injured or killed daily, the most common victims are children. The project wich is trying to destroy these dangerous war relics is funded by several countries, including Aus, NZ, Uk, canada and several European countries. Curiously the country that dropped all these bombs is one that we were surprised to see wasnt on the sponsors list, we felt this was deeply shocking and disgraceful. #godblessusa peace out, stay tuned.
