Its been a while since weve given a Monday Shout Out, why not start the new year on the right foot? Less is more, weve all heard the expression before but this band seems to embody it on whole new level. For being a two piece they certainly make a big sound; bringing together the twang of an old acoustic 6-string, the thud of a lone kick drum, a little bit of synth, and the harmony of two voices that only true love could twine together in such a captivating way. This couple met shortly after college, starting collaborating together, aside from their successful solo acts, and eventually found something unique between themselves. They were married in 2009 and have been collaborating together ever since. With their blend of alternate-country, bluegrass, indie-rock, and simplicity its no wonder that they reached #123 on the Billboard 200 in 2012 with their debut album and, most recently, #20 on the Billboard 200 with their 2014 album release. Their single Hells Bells was also featured in the 2010 season of True Blood. This resourceful duo can conjure up 13 voices between them, alternating between lead/back up vocals, guitar, harmonica, drums, percussion, and keyboard.
