Its should be quite simple- close down companies that dont make money. Its smarter to invest in companies that do make money. Malaysia Inc. is not a private entity- its a trust holding for every citizen.By closing down toxic companies and placing focus on a few key areas, we would do better. For example give MAS money to AirAsia and give Protons money to Perodua. Of course Perodua doesnt develop cars and AirAsia doesnt cover rural routes- so subsidize the rural routes (it would be cheaper to pay low cost subsidies than full fledged fares, and do we really need nationally developed cars when people who can, at first opportunity, buy a Honda City?) The argument of trickle effect is kinda self-denying.What better denominator than cash?The argument of national pride wont feed our poor citizens. Yea, we build 1001 white elephants but we cannot peel and eat concrete abandoned buildings.But yeah, its too simple. We need to complicate things.
