Its surreal watching the Ft. Hood stuff on TV. The helicopters fly right over my house going from Ft. Hood to Scott and White. Thats OUR hospital (my dad was there today for a checkup). My office is 3 miles from where that press conference is. At first, I think the feeling was concern for the people on base and then annoyance that wed have to hear about motives and everything this community went through with the Nidal case. However, after watching this unfold, Im extremely proud of how this little area handles itself in a crisis. That Ft. Hood General was impressive. The doctors at Scott and White are impressive. The local coverage has been impressive.
