Its the way I say it... Last night, Zhanna and Sveta asked me to say - in Russian - how to order a return railway ticket to Butovo. My reply was as follows: Билет туда Бутово и обратно. In Roman script this reads as follows: Bill-i-et toer Butovo ih abrutna. When I came out with this, Zhanna and Sveta cracked up - THEY REALLY CRACKED UP!! Apparently, my mangled pronunciation of billet) is the problem. What I have been asking for is... A RETURN WHORE TO BUTOVO!!! Oh dearie me! Perhaps I should stick to the French pronunciation of billet - it is exactly the same word after all... Then again, a belle amie or lady of the night would probably be a lot more interesting than a grubby bar-coded piece of paper. Whether I would get to Butovo or not would be quite another matter! P.S.
