It’s not about being some absolute devotee to diet-perfection - TopicsExpress

It’s not about being some absolute devotee to diet-perfection – some kind of healthy-eating saint. That is just not realistic in the world of food abundance that we live in. To quote a Billy Joel lyric, “I’d rather laugh with the sinners, than cry with the saints, the sinners are much more fun” – When it comes to diet-psychology that quote holds so much relevance. Those of you trying to be diet-saints end up “crying from the trying” when you can’t make room for indulgence with pure enjoyment. To quote comedian Red Foxx – “Health nuts are going to feel real stupid someday, lying in a hospital bed, dying of nothing.” I’m willing to bet any and all of you that there have been many days where you followed your diet perfectly. And yet you don’t or won’t remember most of those days. But those times where you combined good times with good food; and maybe even ate too much, like a ‘diet-sinner’ would do – I’m willing to be you remember those times, and remember them fondly
