Ive been closely watching the after effects of Maria Sharapovas startling comment that she has no idea who Sachin Tendulkar is, a remark that sent shock waves across India breaking many hearts! The reason is simple, she hails from Russia where hardly anyone knows Cricket. Russians are famous for tennis, hockey, skating and gymnastics. I am sure Russians have no clue not just about Sachin but about cricket in general. Firstly, we really dont know whos who and what in our own country and now we are attacking Sharapovas page with insults and lewd comments because she doesnt know a legend of ours. Is it obligatory that someone should know everyone, if thats the case then how many of us know who is the captain of Indian Hockey team, Captain of Indian Womans Hockey team, or Womans Cricket team. I bet we dont know the name of one famous rugby player, baseball player, a gymnast or a skating legend. So much we have no clue about, and we live with the crazy Indian mentality of thinking we are perfect only to find fault in others.. Due to such mad fanship, the annoyed foreigners are already stereotyping Indians thinking we are insane, im sure now they would worry thrice before getting into any sort of participation with us, both at a personal and business level. This has to stop, as we have no idea the kinda chaos we are causing, think again people.
