Ive been trying to learn more about EPAs strategy of Sue and Settle in collusion with environmental groups. Its truly disturbing. When the EPA wants to impose a regulation that the law doesnt permit, they invite a friendly group to file a suit against them. They reach an agreement (usually up front) regarding what the settlement will be, then go to court with the settlement in hand for a judge to sign. Not only does this provide a source of revenue to the Eco-Nazi groups (the settlement money that comes from taxpayers), but allows the EPA to draw up a Consent Decree which will be signed by a judge as part of the settlement. This Consent Decree then has the power of law as a legal court order. This is an unconscionable abuse of power by our government.
