Ive been walking on my own 2 feet for a coupla days now. Sometimes, I put the cane down and cant find it...hafta tour the house to see where I left it. This is all good. We had yet another dump of snow last night and Carols been snowblowin the driveway (job she hates with a passion) on days when our across-the- street neighbor doesnt take pity on us. Today, I figured I could resume my regular clearing the driveway job. After all, Id have carbide no-slip spikes on the bottom of my shoes plus I could lean on the Binford 5300 self-propelled snow thrower for support. Id take it easy, use only the slowest forward speed and promised Carol Id quit if I felt even a twinge in my hip. Ta-Da! Did the whole freakin driveway, widened it where Carol had taken short cuts PLUS did our neighbors drive as well! And, Yahoo, my hip feels fine! One of my little pleasures is reading a James Patterson or Dean Koonz or Clive Cussler in our Jacuzzi tub. Doctors orders since I took the header was shower only, no bath...until 1) the surgical tape, installed after the staple were removed, dissolved or was falling off and 2) I could prove to Carol that I can get in & out of the tub without help. Guess what? I met both conditions today! The soak, complete was an ice-cold bottle of Molson Canadian, was WONDERFUL. I just might have an encore tomorrow! I have a container of steel hose due into the office next week, likely Thursday. That look like my first day back at work. Ive been off since 1/13. The typical recovery time for total hip replacement surgery of 6-8 weeks so Im a little ahead of schedule. Yippee!!!!! This is all good.
