Ive not had a chance to post anything today due to being away from the computer most of the day. But, Id be saddened if I overlooked the significance of this day in history. 70 years ago, people with cahones far larger than mine traveled in cold metal coffins, waves crashing all around, to square off against the German war machine. Im still struck, at times, by the fact that many of these same folks, and those who crewed bombers, drove tanks, and sweated it out in jungles and forests, were as young as (and younger than, even) my students that I see on a daily basis.
