Ive seen a lot of statuses recently explaining why a person #standswithgaza or supports Israel. Heres mine: I support Israel. I believe there should be a Jewish state in the Middle East, and it should be safe and free from war. I stand with Gaza. I believe there should be a Palestinian state in the Middle East and it should be safe and free from war. That is the two state solution. If youve made an antithetical commitment to the idea that Gaza should be freed but Israel should not exist, you are not a partner for peace. The group I do not stand with or support is Hamas, an organization which describes in its charter its struggle as not just against Israel but against the Jews who are enemies to be defeated and directly calls for Jews to be killed. If you support Hamas or defend their practices, you are supporting a group that hopes to annihilate the Jewish people.
