Ive spoken at length to both Israelis and Jews who do not reside in Israel about how part of Israeli propaganda to cover up apartheid and ethnic cleansing is the tactic of accusing Palestinians supporters of being ant-semitic. It is a well known tactic. I would encourage anyone on the pro-Israel side of this debate to cease using this smear tactic. Not only is it disingenuous, but it chips away at the meaning of the word anti-semitic. In essence, this tactic by Israel takes advantage of the tragic history of Jews, guts the history, the words, and uses it to defend racist government policies. Some stranger I dont know wrote under a friends post: I dont listen to Damien Crisp. He is an anti-semite. I asked for evidence. I said, Go to my page and find one example of anti-semitism. The person came back with this comment I made: After learning about the Israeli propaganda, its no stretch to speculate Israel has pushed for an increase in articles about a rise on antisemitism. Thats in the playbook. I responded, How is that anti-semitism? And pointed out the person cut off what I was saying. Here is the prior comment I had made: The Independent recently published a great piece about a Israeli hasbara manual created by a republican strategist. All about how to do propaganda now on Americans. He made the explicit point Israel should compare Palestinians to Mexicans. The unspoken message is... play on the racism in the US for support.
