I’m not perfect. I’m not Super-Mom. Some days I feel like I am, others, not so much. Even though I post pictures with happy kids and talk about the funny things they did, it does not mean that we don’t have bad days in our house as well. There are days where we are all at each other and no one is getting along. Days where it’s 4 in the afternoon and no one has showered or gotten dressed yet. Cereal for breakfast and for dinner too. Toys thrown, feet stomped across the floor, Mommy out sitting on the porch so whoever else is left inside can live while Mommy calms down. Tears, arguments, back talking, eyes rolling. Oh that happens at your house too? Good, glad I’m not the only one! I guess my point is, I’m not the perfect Mom I sometimes portray on my posts. But why would I want to post the bad things? It’s much easier to text a best friend about my horrible day rather than blasting that on FB. I’d rather keep that space for the happy, fun moments. I have received several messages and comments from friends saying they look up to me because I seem to have it all together being a single Mom. I am always asked, “How do you do it!?”….. My response is always the same, “You just do!” All I’ve ever known is how to be a single parent (not looking for a pity party here!) But it’s just something you figure out! I rely a lot on my parents and the Brewers to help me out when I need it. I have to be the bad guy and the one to snuggle and give kisses, wipe butts and spank them. We have our own crazy schedule and almost always miss ‘bed time’. But we’re always at school on time, and the kids always get fed at some point in the evening! So next time the thought crosses your mind about how ‘put together’ I always seem, just remember that there are dishes in my sink, clothes on the floor, kids crying and stress in my house, just the same as yours! =)
