I’ve got to get with it and “buff and polish up” (well take a shower and put on clean duds anyway) so I can get on down to the Church House and attempt to impart a little Biblical information to folks a lot smarter than me…..But before I go I just have to pass on the greatest wisdom outside of the statements of Jesus himself…oh, for my non believer friends, this is considered “wisdom literature” and is thus consumptable for even Berkley Grads. Good old King Solomon, one of the richest of rulers, states in Ecclesiastes 9:11 that, “the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; BUT TIME AND CHANCE HAPPENETH TO THEM ALL. “ May I humbly suggest to all my friends (believers, and non, rich, poor, conservative or liberal) that life cannot be contained in a script and those who seek to lead us and train us and direct us are no more in control of it all than we are. Today (and days to come) I will strive to do my best and be a good steward of what I have been given and I will take Solomon’s admission in another verse of the same chapter to live life to the fullest and enjoy my family and to not sit around with a pious face (frown) but to live and laugh and love…for as long as I have on this side of the gravel (or astro turf for those planning on being planted in the perpetual care section). I’ll see y’all on the off ramp.
