I’ve spent the afternoon helping my daughter sort out a few things ready for her big move to France, she lives right in the middle of London opposite Big Ben, because it was daytime I prepaid the £10 congestion charge, which annoys me as I already pay £280 road tax and god knows how much tax in fuel duty….. how they can charge you to drive on the same old roads that used to be free still amazes me ! Still what really confuses me is I drove about 1.5 miles in a straight line within the actual zone and immediately parked in her underground parking… but didn’t leave until after 7pm when the charging time had finished so I’m wondering if I’m entitled to half my £10 back as technically I entered but didn’t leave…. I wonder if it’s worth writing to Boris and asking for £5 back !
