JOHN COLEMAN’S WEATHER BLOG TUESDAY, JANUARY 28, 2014 About our Weather Wednesday….the last great day in a row…and a little less great than those lately, particularly at the Eddyfied coastal area. And, then Winter-San Diego Style finally shows. In the minds of some it will be “darn it”, while others will chime in with “ about time.” By Thursday Night and Friday morning a bit of drizzle or very light brief rainfall may occur at spots, particularly in the mountains and North County. And Thursday and Friday will be very windy in the high mountains as a cold northwest wind blowing toward a winter storm to the Northeast of us howls over the county. And, then comes the real thing: Rain arrives Sunday night and Monday, It won’t be a real winter storm but it will be a measurable rainfall for most of county, the first in about seven weeks. And through all of the above temperatures will have fallen to winter season normals are even slightly below normal. No more sevens and low sixties will be the best we can offer for most people. How long is this going to last? At least 10 days of cooler weather with several little rainy touches coming along. And, it may last for the entire month of February and the first week or two of March ( after all that is more or less “normal” periods of weather patterns in my experience.) Sweaters, Jackets, hats and maybe even some gloves in the morning. Occassional moments with the umbrella or a newspaper (I knew they were still good for something) over your head. LOL Now a weather question: QUESTION: On average, how many raindrops does it take to make an inch of rain?
