James 1:22-25 But be sure you live out the message and do not - TopicsExpress

James 1:22-25 But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves. For if someone merely listens to the message and does not live it out, he is like someone who gazes at his own face in a mirror. For he gazes at himself and then goes out and immediately forgets what sort of person he was. But the one who peers into the perfect law of liberty and fixes his attention there, and does not become a forgetful listener but one who lives it out—he will be blessed in what he does. Our faith in Christ must collide with appropriate action. Living for Christ implies repentance and the birth of a new creation. A hunger is born for the things of God, and to live according to the new life that is found in Christ. The forgetful listener is the person who attends church every week and listens to the word, but never engages the message toward life change. The Word of God is designed to be lived out, and the hearing of the Word is a catalyst to that change. Satan continues to sabotage your life after you have heard the good news. Disregard the lies and live out the truth! Verse/Commentary courtesy of Verse-A-Day app. verse-a-day/Apps
