Jesse was diagnosed with Myelodysplasia in 2005, his bone marrow - TopicsExpress

Jesse was diagnosed with Myelodysplasia in 2005, his bone marrow was failing, it couldn’t make enough red blood cells or provide him with immunity from infection. The only cure was a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) which he had on February 1 2007, aged only 6, at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Even though the BMT was a success, Jesse was very ill all that year and in Nov 2007 he developed septicaemia and was admitted to intensive care at GOSH. Amazingly he pulled through and has gone from strength to strength. He is now now a happy and healthy teenager. We feel so lucky to have made it through such difficult times and are incredibly grateful to GOSH for all their care and expertise, without them Jesse wouldn’t be here today. This Saturday we will be taking part in the GOSH BMT 10km walk in Hyde Park. We would love it if you could sponsor us, only a small amount will make a difference! We have set up a just giving page justgiving/Derek-Richards1 . Wish us luck and keep your fingers crossed for nice weather or at least no rain! Thank you in advance for you support and see you all soon we hope! Lots of love, Claudia, Derek, Lily, Albie, Stan, Jess and Bernie xxxxxxx Jesse & Family is fundraising on JustGiving for Great Ormond Street Hospital Childrens Charity... justgiving Help Jesse raise money for this great cause.
